An In-Office 3D Imaging system is the gold standard of care with implant placement. It is not a necessity for all implants, but it terms of correct planning and predictability, you know exactly what you are dealing with before your procedure. The correct width and length of the implant can be chosen before the procedure. A computer guided implant cannot be done without a 3D image. 3D imaging is similar to a CAT scan, but unlike a CAT scan, it is a low dose X-ray and only samples a small area of the jaw.
